Constance A. Timmer

Constance A. Timmer, age 98, passed away on February 23, 2026 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She is survived by her three children, J. Scott Timmer, Melissa A. Endres (John), and Julie M. Wilcox; eight grandchildren, Nicole Timmer, Sydney Timmer, Kinsley Timmer, Maggie Endres (Igor), Elizabeth Endres Orrigo (Clayton), Chelsea Wilcox, Jeffrey Wilcox, and Julia Wilcox; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Simkin, and Gunnari Miller; one brother-in-law, Ivan Timmer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James A. Timmer; her parents, Clayton and Viola Switzer; one brother, Clayton Switzer Jr.; son-in-law, Gary Wilcox; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law. Connie was born in Muskegon, Michigan, and grew up on Wolf Lake, which instilled her lifelong love of water. She later spent many years enjoying her homes on the water, in both Traverse City, Michigan and Naples, Florida.

Connie was a vibrant and spirited artist, world traveler, and entrepreneur. As a young woman, she attended the American Academy of Art College in Chicago. Later, she worked in the travel industry, and explored the world both independently, and with her family. As an agent for Washburne Travel, she shared her expertise and love of travel for over seventeen years. Connie filled her life with art and color, both as a successful artist in her own right, and as owner of Partners Gallery in East Lansing, Michigan. Connie lived her life with exuberance and joie de vivre– a phrase she wholly embraced.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
